April CD
The cd is devoted to a DJ named Diplo (http://www.myspace.com/diplo). I suspect that mix-cd purists will frown at my decision to feature one artist, but I'm banking on Diplo's skills and clever mixes to make it all better.
1* mad decent worldwide radio #5 - a tribute to New Orleans, and especially bounce. be ready for some salty language, the R rating wasnt a joke!
2* mad decent worldwide radio #1 - holler to baltimore djs. who knew?
3** Two Bit Rhythm (M.I.A. mix) - there's no way your ass will sit still. really. NO WAY.
4*** never scared - missy and the clash (huh?). time for some 80's synth R&B
5*** don't get it twisted - more like DO get it twisted!
6*** thikck jawns - hilarious and anthemic
7*** real jawns - yep, that's bjork
*podcast mad decent radio (http://www.maddecent.com/radio/).
**Piracy Funds Terrorism, Volume One, a complete remix of M.I.A.'s cd Arular.
***Never Scared done under the name Hollertronix (Diplo & Low Budget).
******DISCLAIMER******
The cd is great for the gym, the car, bbq, party, etc, but not really if kids are in earshot, not that it's all dirty dirty, but spare yourself embarrassing moments at gran's when junior is overcome with the catchiness of phrases like "where the big dicks at?".
Enjoy - Meggan

Niner Lotes
Making this CD was like giving birth! I hope you enjoy it. Special thanks to Mighty Baby for the cover photo. Love, -Betsy
Larry Williams & Johnny “Guitar” Watson with Kaleidoscope – Nobody – If you’re driving on a nice day with the windows down you’ll belt this one out no matter what. Yes, even the extremely corny hippie breakdown! Squares just don’t understand his bag, that’s why they put him down.
Lee Hazelwood – No Train to Stockholm – From the “Cowboy in Sweden” film soundtrack.
Chris Darrow – Cocaine Lil – A cautionary tale for kids.
The Screaming Gypsy Bandits – Path of Light – These days, Caroline Peyton sings for Disney movies like The Little Mermaid, and Mark Bingham produces gospel and R&B bands in New Orleans. But in 1968, Caroline performed songs like this topless in Bloomington, Indiana gymnasiums, while Bingham played guitar like Richard Thompson behind her.
Bongwater – The Drum – Bongwater’s version of this Slapp Happy song is even better than the original.
These Trails – Rapt Attention – To play at your next Wicca event.
The Pacific Rim Dulcimer Project – Living in the Country – These dudes love dulcimer.
Jerry Yester – Love Lie Down – WARNING: If you put this on a mixed tape for a girl you fancy, and you tell her “This song makes me think of you,” the girl will fall irreversibly in love with you and her love will last f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Be careful!!!
Ellen McIlwaine – Can’t Find My Way Home – Gorgeous cover of Blind Faith by Cambridge, Mass folkie lady.
The Famous Jug Band – Can’t Stop Thinking About It – A good one!
The Byrds – Full Circle – WARNING: Sticks in your head big time.
Sandy Denny – Ballad of Easy Rider – Sandy Denny’s voice and Richard Thompson’s guitar are like old friends on this Byrds cover.
Townes Van Zandt – I’ll Be Here in the Morning – A drink of water in the desert.
Dale Hawkins – L.A., Memphis, and Tyler, Texas – A good one!
Small Faces – Eddie’s Dreaming – The best Small Faces stuff is pre-Stewart. Steve Marriott sings like a bird.
Michael Hurley – Midnite Rounder – Snocko rides again. This tune is from the Snockgrass album.
The Bunch – My Girl the Month of May – Some folks from Fairport Convention got together, called themselves “The Bunch,” and covered a few golden oldies, including this one by Dion. It’s extremely fun to walk in place like the R. Crumb “Keep on Truckin” guy while listening to this. Try it!
John & Beverly Martyn – John the Baptist – A hymn for non-believers. Nick Drake wanted Beverly Martyn to leave John Martyn and marry him instead, but she said no.
Dillard & Clark – Out on the Side – I once had a staring contest with a deer while listening to this song.
Mickey Jupp’s Band – Heather on the Hill – Yup Jupp.
Michael Chapman – Among the Trees – I saw this guy live once. If you ever get the chance, see him live.
Linda Lewis – What Are You Asking Me For? – Britain’s Minnie Ripperton.
The Youngbloods – Sugar Babe – Another one to sing along with in the car. Windows down!
The Kaleidoscope – Life Will Pass You By – What a song should be.
The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band – High Coin – A Van Dyke Parks joint.
The Jim Kweskin Jug Band – Turn the Record Over – The what?
